We are a lawyer-led not-for-profit corporation established in the State of Connecticut to
provide legal services to low-income immigrants.
We maintain an office in Hartford staffed
with paralegal employees working under the supervision of licensed immigration
attorneys.
Lauren Cundick Petersen, Esq., founded her first non-profit in 2000 while she was still an undergraduate. Her passion for democracy and the rule of law led her to law school, then to pro bono representation of asylum seekers persecuted by their home countries' repressive regimes. After working as a litigator, Lauren spent several years at a refugee resettlement agency. She opened her private practice in 2025 and is currently involved with projects assisting detained immigrants.

Janne Reisch, Esq., is an immigrant herself. She is a solo practitioner based in Rhode Island. After working as an engineer in the pharmaceutical industry for many years, she went to law school mid-life, driven by her wish to serve people more directly.

After practicing law and raising her family in CT and various places around the world, Susan
Webb, Esq. relocated to Clinton, Connecticut at the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
When she witnessed the plight of Afghan refugees fleeing their home country in 2021, she
decided to focus her pro bono work on helping immigrants. She currently serves as a Volunteer,
Board Member, and Legal Team Lead of SOS for Refugees, a 501-c-3 corporation based in
Madison CT; and is actively engaged with other non-profits with similar mission statements and
goals.
After a career in the foreign service, Dan Conable worked as a government policy advisor, business consultant, and the proprietor of an organic crop enterprise. He has been involved in refugee resettlement in the Hartford region for the last decade.
